Power shafts transfer a twisting moment from the engine, a transmission and differential to forward wheels. At installation the lock ring is compressed, entering into a shaft flute. External hinges of wire shaft fasten to naves of the forward wheels established on bearings. Shaft fastening to a nave is carried out by a nut with a fillet.

SHRUS are necessary for transfer of a twisting moment and indemnification of movement of a forward suspension bracket. Also, SHRUS allow to change length of a power shaft and to transfer a twisting moment under constantly varying corners. For flexibility maintenance in SHRUS of type Birfield use the balls located in the case of the hinge. In hinges of type Tripoid (трипоидного type) it is used three rollers, established on the basis with three axes.
Tripoidnye SHRUS can act in film and be served. SHRUS of type Birfield (ball) do not act in film and are not served, on them replacement only a protective cover is possible.
